This week is filled with all sorts of testing. Students took a chapter math test today. I wanted to notify you of some of the tests this week so you can encourage your child to prepare and not wait to study at the last minute. Students have been provided with review sheets or have been given tools to help them prepare for these upcoming tests. In the near future I will be adding an online calendar that will list upcoming assessments, projects or reports.
Wednesday, 10/22-Unit 2, Bible Test (5th only)
Thursday, 10/23-Lesson 2 Memory Verse Test (all)
Thursday, 10/23-Ch 3, Science Test (5th only)

Well, I really stepped into it this time! It has been brought to my attention that I have given out incorrect information concerning our upcoming parent-teacher conferences. Be advised that conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, October 29 and not on Thursday the 30th, as sent out in our Class Notes this afternoon. Please download the following forms (below) which have been updated. Thank you for your patience. Yesterday you should have received a note about our next school fundraiser, calendars. These calendars are for sale for $10.00 dollars a piece. We are inviting all students to sell at least two (which you have received). You may request more at your discretion. More information is in the note that was sent out. Calendar sales are partially being used to purchase new carpet for the classrooms. Get your raincoat and galoshes (rain boots) out! Next Tuesday we head out to Sauvie Island Farms for our annual visit to the pumpkin patch and and corn maize (Portland's largest). Please look for a field trip notice in your Thursday folders this week. If you are able to help chaperone it would be greatly appreciated. Have you had a chance to try out Hot Lunch on Monday's? If not, give it a try. For $2.50 you get a main entree, side dish and vegetable, along with drink and dessert. We have a new sloppy joe recipe that is filling and tasty (Mr. Peinado's loose translation, yummy!). All proceeds benefit our classroom's winter and spring activities program of skiing and swimming. Hello all! It has been awhile since we've posted here. I want to remind all students that we begin standardized testing, ITBS, tomorrow. It is vital that all students come prepared and on time. We typically test during the morning hours. Please schedule all your children's appointments outside the A.M. hours that would be greatly appreciated. It is also important that all students get a good night's rest and to eat a hearty breakfast each day. You should have received a copy of our classroom newsletter in your Thursday folders yesterday. Here is a pdf version below Permission Slip for Scappoose Public Library posted below. Our classroom newsletter was distributed last Friday. Here is the link if you did not receive your copy. |
